Would Ontario keep school boards under supervision 'for years'?

Ontario’s education minister says several of the province’s largest school boards could remain under provincial supervision for “as long as it takes.”

Over the past year, Education Minister Paul Calandra has placed eight school boards under supervision, including the public and Catholic boards in Toronto and the two English-language boards serving Peel Region, transferring key decision-making powers from trustees to provincial supervisors.

Calandra defended the intervention as necessary to stabilize governance and ensure money intended for classrooms is used appropriately.
