A solar and wind energy and battery storage provider is lobbying Queen's Park on government procurement policies.
Chris Benedetti and Ken Cain, consultants with Sussex Strategy Group, registered this past week to lobby on behalf of EDF Renewables Canada. The company has dozens of operational or planned production and storage facilities across North America, though only a handful in Ontario, including solar facilities in the eastern part of the province and a single wind farm in Chatham-Kent.
According to the mandatory filing with the Office of the Integrity Commissioner, EDG wants to discuss "permitting, approvals, planning and procurement of power generation in Ontario," with a specific focus on the Independent Electricity System Operator's (IESO) procurement plans for renewable power generation and energy storage.
