A company calling for the use of electronic health records has registered to lobby the Ontario government.
PointClickCare was registered by Jaide Kassam, a consultant with Wellington Advocacy. The purpose of their registration was to discuss changes in policy or regulations that support the usage of electronic health record software or other digital clinical supports) by long-term care homes and hospitals in Ontario. It also wants to encourage the creation of regulations, policies or programs for health system information technology infrastructure or data integration / data sharing across different health care providers or care settings, including potential contracts or procurements, at the provincial or agency level. Finally, PointClickCare wants to encourage the widespread adoption and use of digital clinical standards and tools for long-term care as well as other settings throughout the medical industry.
