Who's Lobbying for Whom: NOVA Chemicals wants to talk to decision-makers

The NOVA Chemicals Corporation was registered in-house by Roger Kearns, their CEO, for a number of lobbying goals. Primarily, to promote value-added manufacturing and the petrochemical industry as a key industrial base in Ontario and encouraging a positive investment climate to encourage new investment as well as ensuring corporate tax and other taxes encourage investment in petrochemical facilities and put Ontario facilities on a level playing field with competing jurisdictions. Additionally, the company sought to encourage an emissions management framework which encourages investment to reduce greenhouse gases, in conjunction with promoting an electricity pricing and policy environment which puts Ontario facilities on a level playing field with competing jurisdictions.
