A group representing tech companies is lobbying the Ford government on the impact of legislation requiring the disclosure of the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The Working for Workers Four Act, 2024, or Bill 149, became law earlier this year. One of its new measures requires companies to disclose the use of AI in the recruitment process.
This past week, TECHNATION Canada, an industry group for the tech sector, was registered to lobby the province by Michael Ras and Rob Elliott, both consultants with Counsel Public Affairs Inc. The primary focus of their lobbying efforts, according to their lobbying filings, was on Bill 149's requirement for the disclosure of the use of AI.
