A group that advocates for the Greenbelt is lobbying at Queen's Park.
The Greenbelt Foundation was registered this past week in-house by Edward McDonnell, its CEO. The focus of the lobbying effort was on communication with government officials regarding implementation of the Greenbelt Plan and related plans and policies, including the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan, Niagara Escarpment Plan, and the PPS 2024. Specifically, the foundation wants to discuss matters relating to the restoration and enhancement of natural resource systems, support for farming, agri-food, and the rural economy, sustainable infrastructure development, and enhancement of sustainable tourism in Ontario's Greenbelt.
