Ontario Premier Doug Ford believes Prime Minister Mark Carney will back his idea for a tunnel under Highway 401 through the Greater Toronto Area, though it is unclear if he had received any such assurances from Ottawa. The Canadian Press reports.

Ontario has achieved just 26 per cent of its annual housing target so far in 2025, as new data released two-thirds of the way through the year suggests hitting its goal may be impossible. Global News reports.
