Trudeau mum on Stellantis negotiations, says talks are ‘ongoing’

“We will continue to make sure we’re getting the right deals for Canadians that create great jobs for the future in growing industries that are going to support communities,” Prime Minister Trudeau said during a press conference in Toronto on Friday.

Talks with Stellantis to salvage an electric vehicle battery plant in Windsor, Ont., remain “ongoing,” according to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

When asked if the federal government had presented a deal to the European multinational or whether he thought Ontario needed to put more money on the table, Trudeau refused to discuss specific details of negotiations.
