Ontario Premier Doug Ford's office is calling on the federal government to "work around the clock" to secure a new economic deal with the U.S. after President Donald Trump threatened on Thursday night to introduce 35 per cent tariffs on all Canadian goods beginning on Aug. 1. CP24 reports.

The Ontario NDP are pushing back on the Ford government's recent decision to take control of several local school boards, with Marit Stiles calling the move a "power grab" that silences elected officials. CTV has more on that.
