Education Minister Paul Calandra said the Ontario government will look at incorporating water safety programming into the provincial curriculum, after two kids drowned in Dryden, Ont., last month.
Calandra’s comments came in response to a question from Dryden Mayor Jack Harrison during the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference, held this week in Ottawa.
Harrison outlined the tragedy that recently took place in his community, and asked Calandra whether the province is looking at how water safety education could become mandatory for children across the province.
