Polling shows Olivia Chow maintaining a comfortable lead heading into the last weekend of the Toronto mayoral election.
A June 23 survey from Viewpoints Research shows Chow with 35 per cent support among decided or “leaning” voters. The next-most-popular candidates are former police chief Mark Saunders with 16 per cent and former deputy mayor Ana Bailão at 12 per cent. The data is based on an online survey of 1,007 Torontonians aged 18 years or older. Viewpoints conducted the survey from June 15-19.
Polling from Mainstreet Research, on the other hand, shows Chow’s lead narrowing slightly. Mainstreet’s data has Chow with 30 per cent support among decided voters. This survey data is based on telephone interviews of 1,481 voting-age Torontonians. The survey took place entirely this Thursday.
