PCs maintain double-digit lead in Liasion poll, but Premier Ford's personal approval rating underwater

Despite the PCs’ strong performance, 65 per cent of Ontarians expressed an unfavourable opinion of Ford, with only 28 per cent viewing him favourably, resulting in a net favourability score of -37.

As Ontario prepares for a potential early election, a new poll by Liaison Strategies shows that while the PCs are leading comfortably, Premier Doug Ford remains unpopular among Ontario voters.

The poll, conducted on August 19-20, 2024, surveyed 1,245 Ontario voters using interactive voice response technology and reveals that the Ontario PCs lead with 40 per cent of the vote. The Liberals are 13 points behind at 27 per cent, with the NDP sitting at 21 and the Greens back at six.

According to Liasion, the margin of error for the poll is "+/- 2.71%, 19 times out of 20."
