PC candidate Tyler Allsopp wins Bay of Quinte byelection in close race

With nearly 97 per cent of polls reporting, Tyler Allsopp was drawing 38.6 per cent of the vote in Bay of Quinte, leading Ontario Liberal candidate Sean Kelly by over 5 percentage points and roughly 2,000 votes.

The PCs retained a long-held Eastern Ontario riding in a byelection on Thursday, though the race was a lot closer than anticipated.

With nearly 97 per cent of polls reporting, Tyler Allsopp was drawing 38.6 per cent of the vote in Bay of Quinte, leading Ontario Liberal candidate Sean Kelly by over 5 percentage points and roughly 2,000 votes.

NDP candidate Amanda Robertson finished third, taking over 23 per cent of the vote.
