Despite managing to reach tentative deals with all its teacher’s unions, the unions say Ontario needs to invest in schools and engage with educators instead of giving “band-aid solutions.”

Members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA) told QP Briefing that the deals with the province don’t mean they have a good relationship with the Ford government.

“We don’t feel respected or listened to anymore. They [the government] were evasive and didn’t even show up for bargaining meetings for over a year,” the OECTA member said.
