Ontario pharmacists could soon be able to treat and write prescriptions for 14 more illnesses.
During a presser this Wednesday at a University of Toronto campus, Health Minister Sylvia Jones said the government will start consultations with its partners on the possibility of allowing pharmacists to treat minor ailments such as sore throats, calluses and corns, mild headaches, shingles and minor sleep disorders.
Pharmacists would also be allowed to order specific laboratory tests and administer more vaccines, such as Hepatitis A and B, Rabies, Meningococcal, and Human Papillomavirus.
