The province on Tuesday announced that it was rolling out debit payments on several Greater Toronto Area transit providers that use the Presto system.

Transit riders across Ontario can now tap their debit cards to pay for fares.

The province on Tuesday announced that it was rolling out debit payments on several Greater Toronto Area transit providers that use the Presto system.

“Now, with the tap of your debit card, including cards on smartphones or a smartwatch, riders can travel across the GO network and on all local systems where credit is currently available,” Associate Minister of Transportation Stan Cho said at an announcement in Brampton.
