Ontario realtors are urging Ottawa city council to reject a proposed increase in developer fees.
The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), which represents realtors in the province, issued a statement on Tuesday saying the 11 per cent hike would put “homeownership further out of reach for thousands of Ontarians in the National Capital Region.”
“This will have a disastrous impact on new housing supply and increase the cost of new homes,” read the statement from OREA president and former Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak.
