Ontario NDP hold on as Official Opposition, Stiles vows ‘rematch’

The results are in, and the Ontario NDP will remain the Official Opposition, winning a total of 27 seats, slightly down from the 31 they secured in 2022. The party ultimately performed better than some polls had predicted, with many predicting the Liberals would take second-place.

The results are in, and the Ontario NDP will remain the Official Opposition, winning a total of 27 seats, slightly down from the 31 they secured in 2022. The party ultimately performed better than some polls had predicted, with many predicting the Liberals would take second-place.

They were able to hold major seats, including in Ottawa and Waterloo, but lost some of the battleground and swing ridings where they were feeling optimistic.
