Ontario landscape architects seek legislative update for profession

The Ontario Association of Landscape Architects has unanimously endorsed a move to update legislation governing the profession after 40 years.

Ontario landscape architects seek legislative update for profession

The Ontario Association of Landscape Architects wants the province to modernize the legislation that has governed the profession for the past four decades.

Currently, the association operates under the auspices of a law that comes with limited powers and was implemented in 1984, according to OALA president Stefan Fediuk.

He said the call for updated legislation — which had the unanimous support of internal leadership — was based on a decade-long feedback loop from members and aligns with public interests.
