The Ontario government has sold a $28.9-million private jet that it purchased less than a week ago back to Bombardier after outcry from the public, Doug Ford said Wednesday. But as Sarah Macmillan explains, the jet likely could not have taken off from most of Ontario’s airports.

The Ontario government has released documents related to the purchase and subsequent sale of a $28.9-million private jet.

Premier Doug Ford announced the purchase of a used 2016 Bombardier Challenger 650 jet last month, but agreed to sell it back to the company within days after the news triggered public outrage.

At the time, the premier said the plane was sold back for the exact same price, promising to publicly release financial documentation on the transactions.
