Ontario gets straight A’s in credit class

Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy got a great report card for his government's economic management from the four major credit rating agencies.

Ontario is still an "extremely strong investment grade borrower," according to Financial Accountability Officer Peter Weltman's roundup of the rating agencies' latest reports on the province.

"After dramatic improvements in Ontario’s finances stemming from a post-pandemic surge in economic activity, the four credit rating agencies have all recently reaffirmed their ratings for the province in updated assessments and maintained the outlook as stable," Weltman said in his report.
