Looks like the Ford government wants to position Ontario at the centre of Canada’s energy and industrial future.
On Wednesday, Energy and Mines Minister Stephen Lecce announced a new interprovincial agreement aimed at building what he calls a “national energy corridor.” This would expand electricity transmission between provinces and territories to meet soaring demand and strengthen energy security.
The partnership includes British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon and Northwest Territories. Quebec, despite being a major electricity trading partner with Ontario, is not listed among participants.
