Observers split on whether Ontario cabinet shuffle is imminent

One Conservative operative is convinced Premier Doug Ford will shuffle his cabinet within the next three weeks, while another believes otherwise, invoking the adage - 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.'

After last week's federal cabinet shuffle saw several high-profile ministers moved or dropped altogether, #ShuffleWatch is now taking over provincial politics, as rumours of imminent ministerial changes at Queen's Park have been swirling for weeks.

The rumours were exacerbated by the poor performance of Premier Doug Ford's Progressive Conservatives during last Thursday's by-elections, where they didn't hold Kanata-Carleton and failed to make up ground in Scarborough-Guildwood .

But whether these shuffle rumours are meaningless fodder to keep politicos distracted in the summer or premonitions of large-scale changes is dividing experts.
