Premier Doug Ford is urging Prime Minister Mark Carney to back his vision for a $120-billion traffic tunnel under Highway 401 — a megaproject that would become the world’s longest. In a letter sent Monday, Ford asked Ottawa to prioritize five so-called “nation-building” initiatives, including the tunnel, critical mineral extraction in the Ring of Fire, and nuclear development, while also scrapping the federal environmental impact law.The Globe and Mail reports.

Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy has unveiled a key plank of the upcoming provincial budget: a boost to the Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit. The rate would rise from 10 per cent to 15 per cent, aimed at driving investment ahead of the budget’s full release on May 15. The Canadian Press has this one..
