‘New Leaf Liberals' — meet the group challenging Bonnie Crombie’s leadership

“We believe that there needs to be some accountability from Bonnie Crombie and her team,” said one of the petition organizers, who asked to remain anonymous to speak freely. “We must win back the trust of Ontarians, and that starts with new leadership.”

A new group dubbed the “New Leaf Liberals” is mounting a campaign to oust Bonnie Crombie as the leader of the Ontario Liberal party.

To do so, the group started an online petition.

Their main ask: that Crombie resign as leader if she fails to secure two-thirds (66 per cent) of the delegate vote at the party’s convention. As of this morning, the petition had garnered just 87 signatures, but the organizers say this is just the beginning.
