Ontario NDP MPP Doly Begum is resigning her seat at Queen’s Park to gear up for a federal byelection in Scarborough Southwest where she will run for the Liberals.
NDP Leader Marit Stiles confirmed Begum’s resignation Tuesday, saying she received formal notice earlier in the day.
“This morning, I received Doly Begum’s notice of resignation as MPP for Scarborough Southwest,” Stiles said in a statement. “I want to thank Doly for her service and wish her well.”
