Former federal cabinet minister and Ontario Liberal leadership hopeful Navdeep Bains is set to formally launch his campaign Wednesday morning with a video pitch centred on affordability, economic opportunity and what he calls restoring the “Ontario deal.”
In the video, scheduled for release at 10 a.m., Bains argues Ontarians are increasingly being left behind after “nearly a decade of Conservative government,” pointing to housing affordability, healthcare access and economic insecurity as signs the province is no longer delivering for working families.
Leaning on his personal story, Bains references his first job at a Ford plant in Oakville and his time in federal cabinet, where he says he fought to protect Ontario’s auto sector during the first wave of U.S. tariffs.
