Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith has announced his intention to seek the Ontario Liberal nomination to run in the Scarborough Southwest riding, recently vacated by NDP’s Doly Begum.

Begum had announced her resignation to pursue a federal Liberal seat in University-Rosedale earlier today.

Erskine-Smith is now the first contender to come forward and put his name in the ballot for the Ontario Liberal Party leadership.
