Kitchener South–Hespeler MPP Jess Dixon is helping reshape Ontario’s approach to violence prevention by spotlighting community-based solutions that start long before a crime is ever committed.

The Ontario government has announced a $1.6 million grant to the Jane and Finch-based organization YAAACE (Youth Association for Academics, Athletics, and Character Education), aimed at preventing gender-based violence in Toronto’s northwest communities.

The funding will support programming rooted in trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, with a focus on Black youth and families.
