With the next G7 summit set for Alberta’s Kananaskis resort in mid-June, Ottawa has a new opportunity to pressure U.S. President Donald Trump on punishing tariffs. Prime Minister Mark Carney, who will host the summit, is expected to lean heavily on G7 unity around trade and competition with China. Trump will attend. The Star reports.

The Ford government is spotlighting its move to triple loans for Indigenous communities partnering on resource projects. The $3 billion fund comes as some Indigenous leaders raise red flags over legislation aimed at fast-tracking mining approvals. The Star has this one too .
