Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie says her party is gaining ground on the governing PCs, dismissing claims of discontent in Liberal ranks over recent byelection losses.
“We are a party that, as we saw coming out of the last general election, closed the gap significantly. Of course, it’s always better to win, but when we come within five points, I know we’re in striking distance of a general election,” she told reporters on Wednesday, her first press conference in months at Queen's Park.
But many see those near-misses as proof the Liberals are struggling to reconnect with voters, and are questioning why Crombie is struggling to improve the party's prospect even more.
