Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday called a byelection in Kitchener Centre, sending voters in the NDP-held riding to the polls on Nov. 30.

The riding has been held by the NDP since the 2018 election, when Laure Mae Lindo unseated Liberal incumbent Daiene Vernile as part of the party's surge to Official Opposition status. She comfortably won re-election in 2022 by nearly 14 points.

In the last two elections, the PCs finished second, while the Liberals were relegated to a distant third.
