Facing a labour crunch threatening its housing and infrastructure goals, the Ford government has launched a new employer portal to fast-track applications for skilled immigrants through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Processing times for OINP applicants have nearly doubled from 11 to 20 months, and Ontario’s federal allocation of immigrant spots is shrinking. QP Briefing reports.
