Fred Hahn refuses to resign after accusations of antisemitism

Hahn, who also serves as the president of CUPE Ontario, has not yet responded to the demand for his resignation, nor replied to a request for comment by deadline.

Ontario union leader Fred Hahn has refused to resign after the union called for it due to antisemitism accusations.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario vice-president released a statement saying that the past few days have been "the toughest and saddest" of all his career.

"CUPE Ontario has a long history of solidarity with the people of Palestine," he wrote in the statement. "I respect the democracy of the union, I maintained then, as I do now, that the members should decide."
