Ontario's energy minister is announcing that a plan to refurbish four reactors at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station to get nearly four decades more service out of them will cost $26.8 billion.. The Canadian Press reports.

Ontario's education minister, Paul Calandra, says he'll soon announce his decision on the Near North District School Board, citing community anger he compares to Ottawa before a takeover. He told reporters on Wednesday that he is skeptical a meeting scheduled next week will change his course. CTV News reports.
