Ford wants to curb bike lanes to ease traffic congestion. Critics say the plan will 'backfire'

“We want to make sure all forms of transportation move quickly. You don't put bike lanes on some of the busiest streets in the country. Put them on secondary roads,” Ford said.

The Ford government seemingly wants to hit the brakes on new bike lanes in Ontario.

Legislation is in the works that could stop municipalities from installing bike lanes that would require taking away lanes of car traffic.

Premier Doug Ford said Monday that the government just wants to “get traffic moving.”
