PC Leader Doug Ford went to Niagara Falls where he was headed for an announcement after stopping in Hamilton for the third day of the election campaign.
Minutes before the media availability started, Reuters reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said the 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods would now be in place on March 1. Later, the White House Press Secretary confirmed that the tariffs will still come as early as tomorrow.
Ford, who has been using the threat of the tariffs as his main reason to justify the early election, was asked about whether the province would start responding tomorrow, Feb 1st, the initial date set by Trump to start the tariffs.
