Premier Doug Ford called for “immediate federal action” to deal with border security issues flagged by U.S. president-elect Donald Trump in his social media posts threatening a 25 per cent tariff on goods from Canada and Mexico.
The comments came following a meeting with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
The premier said that Canada cannot afford delays for a cohesive strategy to address all border-related issues.
