Representatives and stakeholders from Ontario municipalities gathered Monday in Toronto for the Ontario Good Roads Association's (OGRA) annual conference.
As the province is about to turn down billions of dollars in federal funding for infrastructure for missing housing targets for affordable housing, the Ford government highlighted the work it's been doing with municipalities to fund improvements, while leaders of the opposition parties also spoke up about what still needs to be done.
Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria spoke at Monday's meeting, focusing on the importance of building highways and roads in the province as a way to mitigate the effects of traffic in the province.
