Ontario’s legislature rises for the summer after just 29 sitting days, setting up a break that is over four months long.
The Ford government adjourned the legislature this Tuesday and will not return until Oct. 27th, the day after Ontario’s municipal elections.
Government House Leader Steve Clark defended the move, arguing the province is pausing sittings to avoid interfering with municipal campaigns and insisting the legislature’s work will continue through committee hearings and constituency work over the summer.
