Ford government issues enhanced minister's zoning order for Ontario Place redevelopment

The eMZO means that the Toronto city council will not be able to comment on the technical parts of the project like it does on other buildings that go through the local planning process.

Ford government issues enhanced minister's zoning order for Ontario Place redevelopment

This Friday, the Ford government said it is “taking the next steps” on its plans to rebuild Ontario Place.

Kinga Surma, the minister of infrastructure, said she issued an enhanced minister's zoning order (eMZO) to “provide development permissions for new and existing land uses at Ontario Place,” a press release read.

The eMZO is a stronger tool than a normal minister's zoning order (MZO). It was posted online on the Environmental Registry of Ontario late Friday.
