Ford calls on feds to impose tariffs on Chinese EVs

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says the feds must impose new tariffs on China's imports that "match or exceed" those in the U.S., warning the Asian superpower is "flooding the market with artificially cheap electric vehicles."

In a statement released Thursday, Ford said failing to take action would jeopardize the $43 billion worth of investments made in Ontario over the past four years.

"We can never take our progress for granted. Our workers are the best in the world. As governments, we need to do everything in our power to protect their jobs and the paycheques they take home," he said.
