Ontario’s Education Minister Paul Calandra is doubling down on his directive to school boards to keep graduation ceremonies free of political messaging, and warning he is prepared to step in if boards do not comply. QP Briefing got an exclusive interview with Calandra.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he believes the information and privacy commissioner, who is speaking out about changes he is making to freedom-of-information laws, is "politically driven." 

The Ontario government has taken over eight school boards since 2025, including Peel District School Board, the second-largest school board in the province and most recently the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB).
