Premier Doug Ford is reshuffling the top ranks of his inner circle, with his chief of staff stepping aside and a longtime senior adviser moving into the role at a moment of economic and political uncertainty.
Patrick Sackville will leave the premier’s office at the end of the week, concluding an eight-year run in Ford’s orbit that spanned from the early days of the Progressive Conservative government to the present. He will be replaced by Travis Kann, currently Ford’s principal secretary and a key figure in Ontario’s efforts to counter U.S. tariffs.
Ford praised Sackville’s tenure in a statement released Monday, calling him a central architect of the government’s work since 2018.
