Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie has changed critic responsibilities for her caucus and added new liaison roles, including tapping former MP Karen McCrimmon as the party’s go-between with the federal Liberals.
McCrimmon, who won a seat in the Ontario Legislature in a byelection last summer, served on Parliament Hill from 2015 to 2021, and is a “natural fit” for the federal liaison role, according to Liberal strategist Zita Astravas.
It’s also a smart move by Crombie, she said, to reinforce the provincial Liberals’ foothold in McCrimmon’s Kanata-Carleton riding, which had never been won by the Liberals before last summer.
