Asked directly whether she’d stay on if she fails to hit the 66 per cent threshold of support, Crombie was non-committal. “Those will all be decisions that will be made after the fact. But I have a lot of confidence, and yes, I plan to stay on.”

Ahead of her leadership review in September, Bonnie Crombie says she isn’t going anywhere. But some Ontario Liberals are openly questioning whether she should still be leading the party.

“There are individuals who have blind ambition,” Crombie said in a recent media blitz with CityNews’ Richard Southern, responding to questions about Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith, who’s been actively emailing delegates asking for change in the party, and a return to its “grassroots,” which many saw as an attempt to campaign for her job.

“My attention isn’t divided between differing responsibilities, nor do I have a blind ambition for power.”
