Calandra outlines Greenbelt review, floats housing measures in first appearance since shuffle

In a statement provided to QP Briefing, a spokesperson for Calandra said the province intends to re-appoint Dill, who has been in her current position since 2015, before her term expires on Sept. 30.

New Ontario Housing Minister Paul Calandra has had little time to ease into his role. Shuffled to the housing file shortly after Steve Clark's resignation this past weekend, Calandra — formerly the long-term care minister — underwent a baptism by fire during his first public appearance since taking on the portfolio.

His press conference came just days after Premier Doug Ford instructed Calandra to launch a comprehensive review of the Greenbelt.

The nature of the directive appears to be two-fold: review the more than 8,000 km² of protected land in southern Ontario and restore the public's trust in the provincial government.
