Bonnie Crombie resigns as Ontario Liberal Leader after getting 57 per cent of delegate support

The result, though sufficient under the party’s constitution, fell well short of the unofficial two-thirds threshold often seen as the benchmark for a convincing mandate, that critics have been long calling for.

Looks like Bonnie Crombie will be stepping down as Ontario Liberal leader after all.

Bonnie Crombie has announced she will step down as leader of the Ontario Liberal Party once a successor is chosen, following a weekend convention vote that exposed deep divisions within the party.

From her statement: "I have advised the party president of my decision to resign upon the selection of my successor"
