Ontario’s Auditor General said that the Ford government is violating the Environmental Bill of Rights by not consulting the public about the environmental impact of its projects. It has issued 12 recommendations, but the government says it will only commit to nine.

The latest report from Ontario’s auditor general says that the Ford government makes a habit of ignoring public consultation on the environmental impact of provincial projects.
“The trend of these things we’ve been finding have been on the uprise,” said Auditor General Shelley Spence. “I do think it’s eroding the public’s ability to have a voice on environmental decisions.”
