Ontario’s 1.5 million housing target is outdated. According to internal briefing notes for Municipal Affairs Minister Rob Flack, civil servants now estimate the province will need up to 2.1 million new homes by 2031 to truly improve affordability. CBC reports.

Canada’s ambassador to Washington, Kirsten Hillman, says she “firmly” believes a new trade deal with the U.S. can be reached within the 30-day deadline set at last week’s G7 summit. CBC has this one too.
